I hate writing speeches.

bleh.

I found some apple cider at Schnucks today. It's not quite as... sour? debris-filled? I don't know... as the stuff back home, but it's still goooood.

So, it occasionally crosses my mind to make an update on here just to say how things are going, but it seems that I always get distracted. As I need a break after frantically finding sources for my prof com group project, I decided that this would be a good time to do it.

This semester has been like nothing I've ever had before, patho owns my life and micro and pharmaceutics are not much better. Prof com is merely an annoyance compared to them, but occasionally a very time consuming annoyance. I'm debating whether I should start typing up my patho case tonight or if I should just go to bed and do it over lunch like I usually do. My throat's a little sore, I hope I'm not getting sick because this would not be a good week to be sick...

Spring break for me was a week of laziness, of sleeping until noon and enjoying the nice weather of the first few days. It was a welcome break from the constant insanity of STLCOP these last three months.

This weekend was nice, I finally got to see Emily and see what's going on with her, I haven't seen her since Christmas break. We went to the Japanese restaurant in Fairview Heights, that was nice. I like sushi now, real sushi. Easter dinner was good today, I invited Kevin over for it and it was a pretty small and nice easter dinner with my family... Aaron and Janice came home for Easter, and I got to see my cute niece and nephew. So there were a few good things that happened over break. Maybe some day I'll use this blog as something other than complaining about school and talk about something positive for a change.

Not this week though!!

I dropped my computer twice over thanksgiving break. Though one time I think the cat knocked it off my bed or something. Still works, but one of the corners is kind of banged up and I couldn't get the pen out without a knife and a pair of pliers, and now the pen is pretty scratched up. Oh well, only one more year of using this one and then I get another!

Registration was this morning, I actually got everything I wanted this time for once. Looks like it's going to be a pretty hard semester, but I've made it through this one so far. Exams for biochem and physio are probably going to be pretty hard. I've been working on my last photography assignment tonight, I'll really miss that class, it was a lot of fun.

Had to do 12 of my 20 IPE hours this week, so I've been going to Belleville every day this week. I'm pretty much done with the assignments though, at least the ones I need to do at the site. (I really hope I'm doing them correctly...) I like the pharmacy I'm at, it's really small but they're really nice and they take the time to talk to every patient with a new prescription. Nothing like Walgreens... I'm not really looking forward to getting up early to go over there, but it's just 3 more hours. And then I have to do physio discussion homework, blah.

I'm really looking forward to the dance this weekend though!

I'm 21!!

Too bad it's during a pretty crappy week of school though...

I'm going out to eat with my family and Kevin tonight, probably won't drink much or at all, because of this physio lab crap and the biochem paper I need to start on for Friday... seems like I'm about three years later than most people when I say this, but I'm sick of this school right about now. But! That doesn't need to be said here right now!

It's my birthday~!

Just when I was almost feeling 100% after the last cold I had, it looks like I got another one, of the continuously running nose type... I might go to bed early tonight, couldn't sleep last night because I was coughing and my nose was stuffed up. I got some nyquil tonight though, and some jelly beans. couldn't taste the jelly beans though, my senses of taste and smell are completely gone :(

My cold, I'm pretty sure that's what it was, is almost gone. Yay. However, when I went to the doctor last week, he prescribed me some antibiotics just in case I had some sort of infection, and I've been dealing with umm... side effects of that. I hope I feel better by tomorrow...

Oh yeah, I liked how the doctor looked in my throat and went 0_o?? "Did you know that you have a hole in the back of your throat?" I told him yes, it's been there for as long as I can remember, it probably has something to do with getting my tonsils taken out when I was 5. I don't think it's ever caused me any problems. I'm surprised that he's been the first doctor to actually notice that.

This week in photography our assignment was fall colors or a rural landscape. I was pretty excited about this one, but unfortunately, my driver/trespassing partner (Chris) was at homecoming on Saturday and sleeping all day today. Dad drove me around Jolliff Bridge Road on Saturday, but it was a nasty cloudy day and there's not much interesting over there. I did get a few good pictures of cows at the farm of a guy who works for my dad, he said he thought it was weird to take a college class on how to take pictures, but, I think he was pretty drunk.

Today we got some apples from Dix and drove around out there. I got a few more pictures, but I felt kind of crappy today so my heart wasn't really into it, as cheesy as that sounds... It was a pretty nice day, but there just aren't that many fall colors this year. Fall's my favorite season too, I hated this 90 degree weather we've been having up until October. Oh, and I have to work on the day of the Halloween parade too!!! Though I think that starts sometime after 6.

I really hope this is an easy week. At least there aren't any big tests.

Actually I don't really know if it's allergies, I've had a scratchy throat and been coughing a lot for about a week, but I went to the doctor today and he didn't know what was wrong with me either, because it's not sore, I don't have a fever, and my nose isn't running... But I seem to get allergies every fall anyway.

We went to Louisville on Saturday for Noah's birthday, that was nice, though it was a pretty hot day and the party was held at the park. So, Averie and her little friends Aubrey and Parker wanted me to play on the playground and push them on the swings, which wouldn't have been so bad if there weren't three of them to push at once! I had a great time though, I'm really glad that it was fall break so I got to go. It seems like little kids, at least in our family, always loooove me and are scared of Chris. After that, we went across the river to take pictures for my next photography assignment, which is an urban landscape. I got some pretty good pictures of the city and some really really pretty pictures of the sunset behind one of the bridges. I am going to take the rest in St. Louis tomorrow... I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the photo collage part of the assignment, which I believe just consists of photoshopping something into another picture. Hmmm, maybe I'll just stick a giant cat under the arch or a hand coming out of the river in Louisville or something.

Oh yeah, first bad grade of the year on the physio test. 74, whoo... >_

School's going well so far, I keep saying that it will get harder soon, but it's been over a month and it's still not too bad. Biochem and Physio are my two hard classes. I probably need to turn something in for IPE before I forget though...

Photography is a really fun class, I got a new camera and I'm learning how to use all the settings on it. My stuff I've turned in for that class can be found here on Flickr. This week's assignment was black and white pictures, and I kind of wanted to get pictures of some of the weird things around Centralia, so I got Violin Annie, the Humpin Please truck, and a graffiti that I found outside of Annie's cemetery that looks like the walrus that was on the back of the old Dairy Queen. Chris and I drove around in the country as well, we found an old dilapidated barn and I got a few pictures of it, then we went inside and found a bunch of trash and old corn cobs, and a Super Nintendo controller. Also, Photoshop is a fun program to play with.

I'm liking the new apartment, I was afraid at first that I'd be lonely or something, but I'm not, I'm at school for a lot of the day anyway. I am actually going to cook something this week that's not just a frozen, stick-it-in-the-oven kind of thing. Hope it turns out good.

It's really hard to make me angry, but what happened today definitely did in more ways than one... fortunately, I'm pretty bad at staying mad at someone, so hopefully I'll feel a little better tomorrow.
